Introductions

Bigger Hand Claps isn't a blog.

Think of like the farthest thing you can from a blog. Think of an orange peel.

Bigger Hand Claps has a lot more in common with an orange peel than it does with a blog. There's something very citrusy going on here, and something very protective and bumpy and aromatic.

Well okay, maybe it's not like an orange peel, but think of like that drawing you did of Stegosaurus back in the third grade that your mom pinned up on the fridge.

It's very crudely done, but still kind of funny and interesting. It shows you how far you've come and gives you the authority to be a condescending adult. And there's also a big red F in the middle for some reason.

What I'm trying to say is the Bigger Hand Claps is most definitely a blog. Nothing else. I really can't afford to have your expectations any higher than that. Seriously, don't get excited, and don't expect to see any more Dinosaurs.

Bigger Hand Claps, I hope, will be a regular blog about regular things. Like unit testing and expensive restaurants I've been to in NYC.

But behind that everyman mask is a much more sinister, deviant blog. A blog that stays up past it's bedtime and drinks too much and makes irresponsible suggestions.

That blog likes to talk about loud, raucous music, and progressive politics, and social criticism, and computer bullshit.

Not the safe, complicated computers we all know and love that gave us great things like "e-commerce" and "social networking with people you could just call after class", but the other kind of computers.

The kind powered by little, colorful bolts of magic. The kind that enable creativity and appeal to aesthetics and are concerned about spreading new authorship and knowledge and creating more global conversation.

So now that you know the Jekyll and Hyde nature of this blog, I hope you'll read with much trepidation. Maybe only every other week. And I would avoid reading this whenever the weather is nice in your area. Please consult the village sage for when it is safe to read this blog.

Oh and here's another dinosaur:
